Final Fantasy Nintendo 3DS Full English Patch Released Online
A fan-made English patch for the Nintendo 3DS version of Final Fantasy has been shared online.
The patch, downloadable from GameBananauses files left over from the Japanese version of the game. You can check out the English version of the game in action in the video below.
The first entry in Square Enix’s acclaimed series was only released for Nintendo 3DS in Japan in December 2014. It was originally released as a first print bonus for Final Fantasy Explorers before being released separately in January. 2015. Along with 3D support, this version of the game includes all of the additional content found in the PSP and GBA versions.
The original Final Fantasy was recently remastered as part of the Pixel Remaster series. You can read more about it by checking out my review.
The first three Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters are a pretty solid remastering effort that could have been so much better with a few tweaks. While the incredible rearranged soundtracks sound great and balancing tweaks make all three games still enjoyable to play, the divisive overhauled visuals are reminiscent of 16-bit inputs, technical issues like the lack of a V-Sync toggle and the non-saving display settings and lack of additional content found in previous remakes makes these remasters a truly worthwhile purchase only for those who live and breathe Final Fantasy.
