What’s your favorite music track from a Nintendo game?

One of the most important aspects of any game, in this writer’s opinion, is the music. We’ve all been there: maybe you’re stepping onto a new island in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker or floating through “Space Junk Galaxy” in Super Mario Galaxy when a new musical score plays in the background and totally stops you in your tracks.

An exceptional piece of music can stay with you for years; it anchors us to our past, reminds us of simpler times, and – perhaps more than anything – gives us a remarkable sense of attachment to certain video games or franchises. Can you imagine walking around the palette city of Pokémon Red and Blue without that iconic soothing theme in the background? What about “Jungle Hijinxs” from Donkey Kong Country? Why, this level would be infinitely less memorable without that head-dancing rhythmic beat!

What we would like to know, however, is which piece of music is the very better? We’d love your help with this one, folks: write a comment below with your favorite piece of music from a Nintendo title. Later this week, we’ll compile as many as we can and run a poll to see which one comes out on top.

A few things to keep in mind when commenting on your choice:

  • We are looking for unique tracks a Nintendo video game; no complete sheet music or soundtracks.
  • We stick to first-party Nintendo titles for this one.
  • You can only take a! If you list more than one track, we’ll pick your top pick.

So without further ado, comment with your favorite Nintendo music track below!
